How Does the Safety Net System Work?

When you contact Eminent Medical Transport's Communications Center, we will ask a series of questions. These questions are designed to provide us with a picture. This picture together with our knowledge of Medicare & Managed Care Insurances is the base we utilize in determining a payor.

Understanding who the Payor is very important because some pay for more services, some pay for less. In other words, if the payor is Medicare, there are a strict set of Guides that determine whether or not Medicare will pay for the transport.

If the payor is a Managed Care, they are "generally" more flexible with their set of Guides but a series of other tasks must be achieved to insure their payment.

We make sure that all of the required "Guides" are followed and any additional tasks are taken care of. It is our knowledge of the Medical Transportation Insurances, combined with a series of checks and balances that insure you receive the best possible Transportation Cost Management.
